Reasons To Disagree

I can't see how this will make any diffrence at all. For those who think making the polluters pay will work all they will do is pass the cost on to the consumer and in most cases you will find there is little choice in changing who you deal with as most companies in the same industry will be equally effected. Also how will this effect goods imported compared to locally produced goods?

The so-called carbon trading scheme is a ludicrous swindle from A to Z. See the BBC4 doc - The Great Global Warming Swindle for conclusive proof of this. Carbon tax is a good way of stealing money from everybody and ensuring there is no progress - instead we all go backwards.

Carbon trading is nonsense. A carbon tax is what's needed.

Reasons To Agree

it probably won't do much for the environment, just make us feel better, but it will make environmentally unfriendly products and services pay for the damage they do and thus make environmental options more competitive. Question, will my meridian bill increase if they are carbon neutral?
