Reasons To DisagreeI don't think this is fair. The employer should give the employee a reason because they might be discriminating against a person and no one will ever know and we cannot discriminate against others because its against the law 20 March 2008

Reasons To AgreeYes - it will encourage emplyers to give a potential employee the chance to prove his worth without saddling the employer with an un-sackable layabout. 18 August 2006
The fact that employers aren't compelled to give a reason doesn't mean that they cannot give one. We could hope that both employer and employee are reasonable people who could reach an amicable parting of the ways. 18 August 2006
