I would get rid of Fuel Taxes replace it with a $2000 p.a. per vehicle (p.v) Road User Charge where they pay for all the roading and public transport, with $500 p.a.p.v. going to commuter services, balance pays for both WOF and Reg, plus basics to ensure the vehicle is road worthy, and a new set of tyres every six months. Heavy Vehicles over 3 tonnes would pay a higher rate.
