Reasons To Disagree

I disagree as there are fundamental differences in the interpretation and fundamental facts and beliefs that differ i.e Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God Jews and believe he is still to come. The God of Muslims is one of an Old covenant before Christ so therefore it is like saying, that queen Elizabeth is the same Queen if there were extremely different belief systems and facts to her personal history that contridictated to to the truth that she is the queen of england

Three distinct religions from the same location but 1000 years apart (ok give or take 400yrs) may well be distortions of the original truth (what ever that may be) but in chinese whispers the start statement is often not related to the finishing statement - they are NOT the same. Therefore I have to say, they are not the same god.

19 September 2005

There is no reason to believe that any god exists. All "gods" are figments of imagination and blind faith. They are invented to push different philosophies of life and "answer" questions which are, so far, unanswered by demonstrably true means.

The Jewish and the Christian God are the same God, albeit christianity and judaism have different interpretations of where we sit in the historical continuum. It is questionable if Islam subscribes to the same God. Initially, Mohammad used judaic and christian beliefs to lend credibility to his fledgling monotheistic religion, but in later writings there are significant divergences in how Islam characterises God. E.g. in Islam God is capricious, in christianity and judaism God is constant.

Reasons To Agree

Do not believe in god as such but believe that all the religions no matter all believe in the same person just a different interpertation

15 September 2005

Of course they all worship the same God! Same damn God of blood, war and sacrifice!

12 March 2006

God is a belief system and all faiths have a divine entity they call God

24 April 2006

Most theologians accept this. But Christians have gone astray by coming up with the absurd (and pagan!) docrine of the Trinity.

11 August 2006

They do worship the same god - the Koran, Torah and Old Testament are all the same - they all have the same stories, they all say the same things - they just have different names.

15 March 2007

This isn't about whether or not God exists, so those seeking to point-score keep your comments to yourself. This question is about whether the three religions have the same God - not about the existence of God. Please go away, and re-read the questions being asked. And I think he is the same God. And the Trinity isn't 3 gods (so thus isn't paganism) its 3 parts of one god.

Reasons for Remain Neutral

Still arguing about who has the best imaginary friend, I see...

10 January 2007

totally wrong

4 May 2007

I think that considering both religeons believe in one supreme God they intend to. But each of the Gods have different and conflicting qualities, so considering there is only one God according to them, each would disagree with the qualities of the other. So therefore though they both intend to worship THE God, they both have different Gods so I don't think they do worship the same God.
