GUMMINT HAS NO LEGIT PLACE IN CONTROLLING THE MEDIA! There's far too much political bias in the media in general. 28 September 2008

Reasons To AgreeNZ's TV market is too small to support much of a commercial TV production industry. It's important for us to see our own culture on TV though, to remind us we are a unique culture, not just baby Americans. It's worth spending some public money to increase local production. 11 April 2007

Reasons for Remain Neutral
If they are local dramas or comedy then yes. If its reality shows then no.
The radio industry is too much of a duopoly, so should remain business as usual. And yes, local reality shows are awful, the government should never found them again. It's insulting to the tax payer. Outrageous Fortune, Pulp sport etc is where the money should be going
Stations and hardware yes, programming no
Only for educational and other "public good" programs.
