Reasons To Disagree
We pay enough in taxes already. As roads are the heart of the NZ economy (rail being basically a joke) then, to support the economy, roads should be developed as quickly as possible from money already paid in taxes for roading - ie, Vehicle registration fees, petrol taxes, license fees, etc. Perhaps the Govt could dip into its record suprluses to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner - and before they get even more expensive due to the natural progression of time! No Way! not gona speed up traffic

Reasons To Agree
i don't mind the idea of a toll, so long as all the numbers stack up... it seemed to me that if the tolls were going to fast track development by 10 years, then there should only be tolls for 10 years... also, if the aim is to remove congestion from the city center, then they should put tolls on spagetti junction, and use that to pay for the new motorway development. btw, that spagetti junction upgrade was pretty damn expensive... and that nelson street offramp change was pretty dumb idea eh! Yes - providing taxation of the motorist is reduced pro rata.

Reasons for Remain Neutral
I live in a rural area and therefore motoways have no affect on my life, however I do feel that we pay a lot of money in road taxs and this should be sufficient to fund all roads.
